WHAT THE CLIENTS SAY

"Salvation has done something unique. A modern build that retains all of the classic vibe of the space. Brought some stunning-sounding drum tracks out of here and had a blast doing it. Can’t wait to be back."

- Adam ‘Atom’ Greenspan

(IDLES, Bloc Party, Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs)

"I watched Salvation Studios come together over the past few years. Recently I got to finally work there and it did not disappoint. There is a beautiful live recording room with a high ceiling, and acoustically very workable spaces, plus booths for amps etc. The control room appears (acoustically) very accurate no matter where you stand - and is furnished with great-sounding monitors, some lovely outboard gear, and a wonderful Neve desk. It’s a beautiful modern studio but has warmth and tradition. I look forward to going back."

"From the moment you walk through the door, you know this is a serious studio.  Absolutely loved the design and layout of the studio.  It was perfect for my workflow and the equipment available to me was probably the best iv'e come across in a studio in a very long time.  What makes a studio really great for me are the people behind it and the team here are brilliant.  Couldn't do enough for you and everyone was really on the ball.  The studio reminded me of some of the coolest American studios I've worked in.  Bundles of character and nowhere else quite like it in the UK.  Had a great time recording here and will definitely be back.  I found it really easy to get sounds in there.  Great monitoring.  But you just pushed your mic's up and it was ready to go.  When I got back to my place, I put the tracks on, pushed up my faders and everything sounded killer.  The guitar tones were amazing.  No processing, no messing about.  Just big guitar tones.  What a desk!  Can't wait for my next session there."

- Nick Brine

(Oasis, The Darkness, Ash, The Stone Roses)

"Salvation Studios is such a unique experience.
The rooms are tuned so well, and the desk is stunning, the only time I have worked in a similar environment is in the USA, the drums sing in the room and with the addition of booths as well as a beautiful sounding larger-than-life sounding big room, add to that a wide choice of drums and instruments at the studio, enable you to achieve any sound you have in your head.
The results achieved speak for themselves, and the capture from Salvation carries so well to ensure there are no surprises when it comes to mixing.
It’s a world-class facility with an enviable collection of guitars and amps, and stellar microphones and all the equipment is maintained to a very high standard, it’s a yes from me!"

"I recently recorded at Salvation for the first time tracking piano with live vocals in one of the isolation booths. The Neve desk has a wonderfully unique character and combined with some great microphone options, we were able to capture such dynamic breadth in the piano, which was complimented by the great-sounding live room. Living locally, this studio is a real blessing."

"Salvation Studios is hands down one of my favourite places to write and produce records. Not only does it have world-class recording equipment with incredible sounding rooms, but it has an extremely inspiring vibe.

The staff at Salvation really help with this, a really friendly team who understand the creative process - no request is too much. The building itself is really characterful and the team have done a great job maintaining its original features, whilst making it a modern space to work from. A lot of modern studios can feel too clinical or sterile, but this place has the perfect balance - which is really unique.

On top of this, having a studio so close to Brighton is really special. I find that a lot of good ideas come from outside the studio. Having a City on your doorstep is another great way of getting inspired. I'm looking forward to making more records in this beautiful space."

“It was such a pleasure to work at Salvation with a full band. Fabulous sounding room and amps, the desk worked great, monitoring was good, and above all, Lewis and Liisa were brilliant. Really great people to have in the room, super helpful and understood the dynamics of working in a studio perfectly. And thanks again for your hospitality, See you soon!”

“The selection of gear, treatment of rooms and expertise of the team rival any of the studios I have worked at. It was a pleasure to work at Salvation and the results have left the artists speechless. I will be recommending this place to anyone who will listen! ”

"Salvation is my favourite new drum room! We pushed up the faders on the immaculate Neve 8068 and it was all there. The staff were great and really knowledgeable. I’ll be back… a lot."

- Mike Horner

(Hot Chip, Placebo, Jess Glynne, Deaf Havana)

“It is great to see it completed and looking so good. Blown away when I walked in, and as I said to John Flynn (architect), few times over the years have I walked into studios and immediately got excited by the vibe. And I could not wait to start working because it was inspiring, and that Is what I felt today (and I am comparing it to Sarm, British Grove, Real World and a few in the US). Well done Rusty, will see you soon!”

"Salvation Studios is a world-class studio situated on the outskirts of Brighton, we had a fantastic experience there with our Lewis Thompson camp in partnership with RCA. We broke the studio down into 4 separate rooms on this occasion, which made it the perfect situation to host writing camps, with Brighton under an hour from London."

"I spent two productive days at Salvation Studios recording piano with live vocals and I found the whole facility to be excellent. The flexible live room sounded first-rate and allowed for creative micing of the piano with the vocal fully isolated in one of the spacious booths. The outstanding mic selection and pre-amps, along with the state-of-the-art monitoring, made achieving the result we wanted painless. And the friendly, professional staff were wonderful so I’m really looking forward to returning soon!"

"I recently spent a couple of weeks at Salvation Studio recording a new Cats In Space album. Absolutely loved it.
The live room is amazing - lovely acoustics, the vintage Neve sounds wonderful, and it all works! The control room and the monitoring are excellent & we had lots of fun with the collection of vintage amps and guitars.
The assistants Lewis and Jake looked after us very well...

It’s a really special studio, I can’t wait to come back!"

Salvation is a beautiful studio with amazing equipment, great staff and a truly awesome sound. The live room, the Blue room, the Brick room and the vocal booth each have their own characteristics and the range of house instruments available is staggering, these provide really exciting possibilities for creating almost any sound you can imagine.

It has been very well thought out so setting up is straightforward and quick. The control room sounds lovely - well balanced in all parts of the room, this comfortable space is great for communicating and making decisions for all involved.

The equipment is amazing, the Neve desk sounds good as soon as you put the faders up, outboard gear selection is top-notch.
The line of sight is excellent between the different spaces, making this a fantastic place to record any kind of ensemble.

I am very excited about what is happening at Salvation.
This is a studio where legendary recordings will be made.

"Wow.

What a place you’ve built! I’ve recorded at a few places around the world; Ocean Way in LA and Nashville, Real World, Abbey Road etc.

Trev (Trevor Michael) and I were saying it’s the best control room we’ve ever worked in ever! So well done for persevering with such a great project. I will tell everyone about it for sure.

Jake is also a good asset as an assistant. It can make or break a session."

I loved my recent session at Salvation Studios in Brighton with the amazing gravel-voiced troubadour Sam Scherdel.

The aesthetic alone is enough to put you at ease that you’re in for a luxury studio experience the minute you walk through the sound-locked control room doors
I’m told that the inspiration for the design was the world-famous Olympic Mix suite, which for me is a time portal to my '90s studio education.

I haven’t seen a studio outside LA or Nashville that is as stunningly beautiful and inspiring to be in as this wonderful build, inside a former Salvation Army meeting hall by the sea.

The vintage Neve console sounds fantastic, the dual ATC monitors are a faithful reproduction of everything going on in a live room that’s probably acoustically unsurpassed anywhere

The collection of vintage equipment is equally impressive
And has been lovingly assembled piece by piece by the warm and charismatic owner Russell. A true patron of the arts, with great musical taste.
He texted me excitedly about his beautiful new Thames Ditton guitar cab speakers.

The staff are friendly and attentive, and the client list is growing more famous every week.

If you are a professional, a label, or an artist reading this, it’s a departure from the normal choices, and a spectacular one, with many wonderful surprises.

“Salvation is a great studio and, more importantly, a great recording experience. Russell and the team were really accommodating and the sessions were productive and relaxed. The gear is excellent and the live room has loads of character - pulled some fantastic drum recordings out of it. Loved working here and will absolutely be coming back.”

“With so many studios closing these days it’s fantastic to discover Salvation Studios. The live room is ideal for string chamber ensembles for either pop or classical recording.

There’s a natural warmth and true sound which makes it a joy to play in, and the general studio facilities are very high quality. This is a really versatile recording space and I look forward to more recording sessions here”

"I recently had the pleasure of tracking a string quartet for a film score at Salvation Studio. The whole experience was fantastic and I would not hesitate to go back for more string/scoring sessions. It’s a really great sounding space where the musicians felt instantly comfortable and able to play together intuitively. All the support was in place for a smooth, incredibly efficient session. In the 5.1 mixes for the cues recorded there I ended up using a lot of the room mics, including some amazing far away mics up in the gallery. The depth and richness of the room sound is unusual for such a small ensemble and has massively contributed to lifting the score up to a new level. Can’t wait to come back for more."

"As a producer with my own studio it's sometimes a bit of a stretch to go to other places but the Salvation team made me right at home.

Most other big studios I’ve worked in are great but don’t really offer that playground experience that comes with a producer having their own gear collection. Salvation is a bit different in that it has a great monitoring environment and outboard but also loads of guitars and amps ready to play with to get more customised tones

It's a bit posh for me as a northerner but I’ll get used to it!”
